The closest international airport is located in Honduras - San Pedro Sula. While less flights go to San Pedro Sula, there are often real bargains when travelling via the USA. Flights from Miami are often very cheap, and because the airport is rather small it won't take long to claim your baggage and clear customs.

The ride takes less than half the time of a ride from Guatemala City, which is why we would always recommend this option.
